Will Anyone Pass Richard Petty In Wins

The thought of anyone ever doing better than Richard Petty is almost unimaginable. He is the undisputed champion when it comes to Nascar. In many ways he is the Michael Schumacher of American racing. He is a man who won 200 races and SEVEN Nascar titles. There is really no chance that anyone is ever going to get close to him. Chances are that he will have this record all to himself for a very, very long time.

It is not good to tempt fate and there is always a chance that someone even better than Richard Petty will come along. However, nowadays there are so many good teams and so many good drivers that no one can claim they will dominate in the next 5 or 10 years. And, in order to get 200 wins or even close you will have to be amazingly dominant. The next closest person has 105 wins. That is HALF the amount Petty managed in his career. It really means someone will have to be a top driver for 10 years or more and win 5 or 6 Nascar titles in order to even get close to the 200 mark. This is a record that will stand forever, at least for the next 20 or 30 years.
